Kannot's English Room

Our English room is used as an English center. We don't have any other lessons there. In the room we keep all the staff we use for teaching: textbooks, dictionaries, books for extensive reading, worksheets, flashcards, etc. We also have a TV set, video, tape recorder, earphones.

We have three meaningful walls. On the front wall over the board there is an ABC chart which is helpful when pupils are working with dictionaries. On both sides of the wall we have maps of the USA and UK which are used when we teach and talk about these countries. On the same wall we have views of London and a stand where we put ads and "Proverbs of the Day" that pupils learn and sometimes get marks for this (it's challenging for  weaker students).

On the back wall we have posters (mostly done by pupils), they are changeable. This year we had "A Time for Ten Issues" by Janus Korczak (at the beginning of the year I used them for teaching),  guidelines for

writing compositions, doing Book Reports and Projects and also some samples of the pupils' oral presentations of the  projects.

On the third wall we have many bookcases where we store  a lot of materials (worksheets, cards, Bagrut Modules) in boxes of different colors, organized

according to  themes and levels.

We have two computer classes in school and get computer lessons there  for preparing projects and in weaker classes we had computer lessons where

we used a special program.
