| The Meir Shfeya Youth Village is a residential, agricultural, comprehensive school for 300 residential students who live , study and work at the village and 200 external students from neighboring communities , in grades 7-12. Our students are the children of new immigrants from Russia and Ethiopia and Israeli students from all over the country, who require residential placement and a special learning environment to achieve and succeed.
Our school is involved in special projects with the Branco - Weiss Institute, Atidim, Mofet , Etgar and Naale 16 . All of our students study in Bagrut Preparation programs with emphasis on the sciences, mathematics, agriculture and music. Their program includes work in our dairy, chicken farm, children’s' experimental farm, orchards, vineyard and our own winery which opened in September 2005.
Our English Program prepares students for Bagrut at all levels and offers special classes for English Speakers and enrichment for weak students. Our 8th grade classes put on an annual musical play in English, involving 6 months of preparation and performances, as part of their studies which is performed for the entire village and the families of our students.
Students are involved in all aspects of the project including learning the script, set design and production, choreography, music, costumes, make up, lighting and sound, programs and invitations. In 2005 and 2006 we did outstanding productions of Little Shop of Horrors and Grease.
We attempt to provide our students with successful , enjoyable and memorable educational experiences which enable them to understand and use English for studies and communication.
