Classroom Procedure

    
Outlined below are ways to make the lives of the teacher and ALL students easier

1.   Limit copying from the board 

      Photocopy so student can answer on page

2.   All work-pages must be typed out and NOT handwritten

3.   Incorporate the students as much as possible in oral work

4.         Evaluate written work based on content; not spelling, grammar or style

5.   Give positive evaluations and avoid negative comments

6.      Tests should be frequent and short

7.   When the teacher feels that the student’s knowledge was not

       reflected on the test, an oral evaluation can be added

8.   Don’t wait till the end of the lesson to assign homework

      Make sure that the student understands the assignment

9.  Use the board - * Write clearly and in an orderly fashion

                                * Don’t overcrowd the board

                                * Save a corner of the board for homework

                                * Don’t erase too soon / allow time for copying

10. Encourage a variety of alternative projects

11. Give the dispensations / Remember - these are not  הקלות ; they are התאמות.  Should be given to all grades,  not only for Bagrut

      Don’t exempt the student from doing the required work
