Following is a passage from Janusz Korczak's diary which he started to write in the ghetto before his deportation to Treblinka. It is a meaningful passage, short and to the point and is a good lead in for discussion on Ghetto life, prayers; hunger; misery.

"Our Father who art in Heaven …

This Prayer was carved out of hunger and misery.

Our daily bread.

Bread."

This is one of the last entries to be found in the diary written by Janusz Korczak who was deported to Treblinka together with the entire staff of his orphanage and 200 orphans the following day, August 5, 1942
