Junior Urgent Action Network
You are invited to join the exiting world wide program of Junior Urgent Action Network!
Junior urgent actions are monthly appeals which have been specially designed for young people. The network gives the opportunity to save lives of other young people, who are victims of human rights violations, by taking part in a global letter-writing campaign. This is a global effort involving thousands of children in a life-saving network. They send letters to ambassadors of countries where abuse and violations take place and thus become active human rights defenders!
The expected outcomes and products are: Increased knowledge about world events, improved writing skills, expanding vocabularies, expanded critical thinking capabilities, creating a dynamic and vibrant atmosphere of dialog in the classroom and in the school as well as increasing the students' level of caring and compassion for others. Most important is that the participants become aware of the fact that they are part of a global community and that they can bring about change.
The language(s) of the network are: Hebrew, Arabic and English.
Curriculum area: English, Arabic, Hebrew, Civics, History, Geography, and Homeroom lessons.
